Andrew Turner, the Island’s MP, this week addressed the grass roots Conservative group in Seaview during their annual ‘True Blue’ Party. During his address, Mr Turner criticized the Prime Minister for both his poor handling of the economy and his indecisiveness on the issue of a general election.
Mr Turner said:
“This country needs a new government after the years of political and financial mismanagement under Messieurs Blair and Brown. It is a great personal tragedy for Gordon Brown, a man who has waited in the wings for ten years for a job he seems unable to do. And it’s a national tragedy for all of us. Our country deserves better leadership, especially during this troubling period for the economy. It seems that as Prime Minister, the reputation of the former ‘Iron Chancellor’ is rusting away.”
Mr Turner also praised the work of the councillor for Seaview and Nettlestone, Diana Tuson, local party officers and members of the Conservative Party locally and thanked them for all their hard work.
